4.52 Release Highlights
Vicinity 4.52 brings more flexibility, better control, and real-time visibility. New dashboard tile grouping, user-class level batch creation settings, and the first phase of our Insight Works integration make it easier to manage what users see, what they can do, and how production gets reported.

Main Dashboard – VicinityView Tile Section Grouping and Customization
This enhancement improves how users interact with VicinityView tiles on the main dashboard. Tiles can now be organized into up to four custom sections, each with user-defined names and visibility settings.
Users can now:
- Rename section headers to fit their workflow
- Show or hide individual sections
- Rearrange VicinityView tiles into different sections for better clarity
Batch Creation Security Enhancement – User Class-Based Control for Batch Creation
VicinityView has been enhanced with the ability to create a drillback link for any VicinityView, including saved favorites. These drillback links can be used to create links to VicinityViews that can be executed outside of Vicinity (e.g., in Excel worksheets, desktop shortcuts), taking the user directly into a VicinityView or a saved favorite.
To obtain the drillback link:
- Formula ID field and Copy Batch in Batch Entry
- “Create Batches” options across ribbons and planning screens
- Convert to Batches” actions in schedules and calendars
Project Entry Enhancement – Reorder Trial Components with Up/Down Ribbon Buttons
In Project Entry, users can now reorder Trial Components using new Move Up / Move Down buttons in the ribbon. This change streamlines formulation editing without requiring deletions or re-entry.
Key benefits include:
- Adjust display order quickly
- Improve clarity in component trials
- Reduce time spent on test formulation setup
Insight Works Integration Phase 1 – Sending End Item Completions from Warehouse Insight Module
Vicinity now supports batch completions sent directly from the Insight Works Warehouse Insight module, streamlining production reporting and data entry.
This new capability offers:
- Real-time batch completion updates
- Visibility into remaining production quantity
- Partial quantity support with lot number automation
- Integrated screens within Warehouse Insight for batch selection and output
Note: This is the first phase of the integration, with future releases planned to support raw material consumption.
